Dear Members,

As we phase into the 4th quarter of my year as President, I wanted to share with you the accomplishment of the organization and give credit to all the volunteer leaders in various chapters across the State.

Atlanta AHU-President Brent Simmons and his board have had a very successful year, achieved Gold certification from NAHU, presented a successful Benefits Forum, which provided members with educational opportunities from growth in the industry, continue to provide interesting featured speakers at the monthly meetings and has a significant collaborative effort scheduled with SHRM planned for April 18th.

Coastal Empire AHU-President Cathy Rainwater and her board have had a successful year, with informative monthly meetings, achieved Gold certification from NAHU, continuing to grow membership and a dynamic Symposium scheduled for May.

CSRA AHU-Phil Wittenberg stepped up to the role of President in the first quarter of the year and has done an outstanding job in helping the chapter to sustain and grow, close to achieving Silver certification from NAHU, continuing to provide educating monthly meetings and planning a collaborative meeting with NAIFA scheduled for April.

Middle Georgia AHU-President Stacy Tolbert and her board have done an outstanding job presenting the members of the area with educational programs, achieved Silver certification from NAHU, have continued collaborative efforts with a joint meeting with the NAIFA chapter in the Macon area and stabilized membership.

NE Georgia AHU-President Joey Costa and his board have worked hard to present the chapter with interesting meetings for members in two locations, have achieved Silver certification from NAHU, continue to sustain membership and are planning a meeting in May to include representatives from Committee on Government affairs.

NW Georgia AHU-President Lyn Ingram  and her board have lead the chapter to stable growth, presented interesting educational meetings including PPACA overview with Mr. Al Ertel, worked on achieving Silver certification from NAHU and with Lyn stepping down as President Jeff Osborn will assume those duties through the remainder of the year, great team work.

South Atlanta AHU-President Randy McDaniel and his board have had an outstanding year with a well attended educational symposium, Gold Certification from NAHU, continue to provide enlightened monthly meetings, provide growth in membership, and scheduled their 1st annual golf tournament in April.

South Georgia AHU -President Deborah Phillips (2011 Kathy Cruce Award Winner-GAHU highest award) and her staff has done an outstanding job, stable growth of the chapter, quarterly meetings- and a symposium scheduled in May, achieved Silver certification from NAHU.

In my first message, I stated that everything boils down to leadership and it is exemplified by the accomplishments of each chapter.  The state of Georgia has received recognition on both the regional and National level for what it continues to do for the members from an educational and information perspective.  I salute the Presidents for their devotion to GAHU, while maintaining their individual careers in the Employee Benefits arena.  Until next time.....

Best Regards,

Clifton McKnight, Sr.

President-GAHU 2011-2012
