| With all the talk about the technicalities and emotions of health reform, we sometimes forget that there is a very human side to our business. When we (and by “we” I mean people in general, not just Members) read newspapers, it’s hard to remember that the stories involve actual red-blooded Americans who have a real impact on this world.
Earlier this month, we lost one of those real Americans. Suzanne Knight, wife of GAHU Past-President Dave Knight, was called Home. For those fortunate few of us privileged to know Suzanne, we will miss her class, her dignity and her beautiful presence. All members will miss her because of her steadfast support of Dave’s efforts on behalf of GAHU and her support of our industry and the good work we do. None of us can claim that we accomplish anything on our own without the aid of our families. I know that Dave would be the first to tell you how incredibly important Suzanne has been to his career and to our Association.
In other matters, GAHU is wrestling with the same economic realities that touch every aspect of American business. For many months, your GAHU Board has been making decisions to ensure that we continue to deliver value to you, our Members, as well as provide assurance of our existence.
Rest assured that we will continue this active Stewardship throughout the rest of our board year!
If you have ideas that you feel might help us, or if you just want to know more about what we are doing, please let us know. We are here to serve you!
Blake Watts, 2009-2010 GAHU President
