About the Speakers:

Margaret Ellmann RN
Margaret is a full time utilization review nurse for HCA/ Memorial Health University Medical Center for the past 8 years. She’s been a psychiatric nurse for the past 36 years working in psych, substance abuse as well as geriatric psychiatry and has had the pleasure of working with several facilities in different states. She has progressed from a psych floor nurse, moving up thru, charge, assistant nurse manager, and nurse manager. She also spent 20 years working for a major insurance company, the first 10 years doing utilization review for behavioral Health and the last 10 years as provider relations.
Margaret enjoys traveling, especially cruising and for the first time has started taking tennis lessons.

 

Stephen S. Yost, DO

Dr. Yost is board certified specialist in Psychiatry, and received his Doctor of Osteopathy at The Oklahoma College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1986.
He did his residency at the Mayo Medical School from 1994-1998; and did his internship at Tulsa Regional Medical Center in 1993.
Dr. Yost is currently the Medical Director of the Memorial University Medical Center – Center for Behavioral Medicine, as well as the Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Mercer School of Medicine-Savannah Campus. Dr Yost is an exercise enthusiast at Orange Theory and a father to three young men, one of whom is following in his footsteps in medicine.

 

Mary Jo Horton, LCSW
Mary Jo Horton is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who started her career in New Jersey with Child Protective Services. Mary Jo moved to Savannah in 2005 and worked with Chatham County Juvenile Court to start the first Juvenile Mental Health Court in the Southeast. Mary Jo has worked with seniors and at-risk foster children as she believes mental health needs connects everyone.
Mary Jo Horton started working as a therapist on the inpatient unit at Memorial in the Spring of 2019 and became the Manager of Intensive Outpatient at Memorial in January of 2020. Mary Jo is passionate about ensuring people in the community have access to quality mental health services.
When Mary Jo is not at work, she is enjoying the outdoors with her husband and her three dogs including biking, and being on the water.
